Marine Testing Solutions now offer a new comprehensive on-board water testing service with associated services. This service is available to all ship management companies and vessel owners operating their vessels through any United Kingdom port.
All on-board sampling is performed by qualified water treatment engineers who will collect the necessary samples in sterile containers and will then send off the samples to our retained laboratory for analysis within the sensitive time frames required.
Marine Testing Solutions can cater for any vessel specific requirements for testing. Our standard microbiological and water chemistry analysis are as follows:
MTS-A100168 Potable Water Microbiological Analysis (Per System) Includes:
Aerobic Bacteria (2 Day @ 37°C), Aerobic Bacteria (3 Day @ 22°C), Clostridium Perfingens, Coliforms & E.coli, Enterococci, Legionella and Pseudomonas.
MTS-A100169 Potable Water Chemistry Analysis (Per System) Includes:
Ammonia, Alkalinity, Aluminium, Boron, Bromate, Calcium, Chloride, Chlorine, Conductivity, Colour, Copper, Fluoride, Hardness, Iron, Lead, Magnesium, Manganese, Nitrate, Nitrite, pH and Turbidity.
All results would then be reported back to the ship Management Company or vessel directly, after being analysed by Marine Testing Solutions. All results are certificated by our retained UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Society) approved laboratory.
Out of Specification Results
For any ‘out of specification’ results obtained, Marine Testing Solutions are able to offer any remedial work that may be required. This could include:
- Cleaning and chlorination of the potable water tank and associated distribution system.
- System repairs and/or upgrades.
- Cold water storage tank relining, repainting or replacement.
- Hot water system descaling and/or replacement.
Marine Testing Solutions also understand that any remedial work undertaken may be required to be completed in ‘out of hours’ circumstances to meet with any vessel departure requirements.
Other Testing Requirements
We are able to support all systems on-board for analysis if required. For example, confirmation of an oil in water contamination of the ballast water system.
