Fresh Water Safety Plan

To comply with the MLC (Maritime Labour Convention) (2006) and MCA (Maritime and Coastguard Agency) MGN 397, Marine Testing Solutions can assist with the creation of the required fresh water safety plan (FWSP).

For UK flag state vessels the MLC (2006) enters into force on the 7th August 2014 and by this date you will be required to have in place a fresh water safety plan.

The most effective means of ensuring safety of the fresh water supply is through the use of a risk assessment and management approach that covers the whole process from loading, storage and to the delivery at the tap and or shower.

The fresh water safety plan can be offered as part of the management service, offering both vessel owners and ship management companies peace of mind that the testing regime implemented is being monitored and reviewed. This will also demonstrate that each of your vessels are performing the required testing for the MLC 2006 and that replacement consumables are supplied when required, as these are managed as part of the management system.
